As you might have guessed already, the Lexus LF SS Concept isn't made by Lexus, but it manages to closely follow the acclaimed L-Finesse line of design. Created by amateur designer Jin Hee Kim, the futuristic looking sedan is said to be based on the current Lexus GS wheelbase and length, but with an obvious difference in styling and overall packaging.
Jin Hee Kim says that the exterior styling was partly influenced by Buddhist sculptures and was designed to appear like a single component. Not satisfied with the look of the concept proposal alone, Kim also thought out a demographic study and a few technical details for the (never to be released on the streets) futuristic automobile.
Therefore, the Lexus LF SS Concept is set to accommodate a hybrid drivetrain comprising of a (Lexus made) V8 engine fueled by petrol which is connected to an electric motor that helps it propel without burning too much fossil fuel. The electric motor receives power from a dye-sensitized solar cell, which mimics photosynthesis and harnesses energy from the sun. Even though we didn't see any solar panels on the car, the idea sounds credible enough.
Kim also said that the car was specifically designed for drivers aged 30-40 years in the year 2010. considering the medium age of Lexus drivers is currently of over 50 years old, we think that mr Jin Hee Kim should just stick to designing and leave the marketing bit alone.
