Dennis to Return to F1 Paddock with Mosley Gone?

Max Mosley's departure from the sport – with immediate effect or following the October presidential elections – will likely lead to Ron Dennis making more appearances to the McLaren-Mercedes garage inside Formula One.

The rumor surfaced the British media on Thursday, as The Times quoted an unrevealed source as saying that Dennis will be in the public eye more than he had used his fans in the last few months. While avoiding to appear within the F1 paddock for the good of his former team, the Englishman is likely to reconsider his public appearances once Mosley is gone.

The two haven't seen eye to eye for some time, ever since McLaren was involved in the spy gate back in 2007.

Following the lying saga earlier this year, Dennis decided to renounce all his positions within McLaren F1, as he moved to a more quiet role with McLaren's road car division. He also avoided making appearances inside the F1 paddock, in order for his team not to receive a harsh penalty from the FIA.

Mosley acted accordingly, as he forgave McLaren for their actions during the Australian Grand Prix. It was rather clear that there has been an exchange of favors, as Mosley took into account McLaren's getting rid of his long-time rival for good.

Race-goers might be seeing a little more of him from now,” the source was quoted as saying to The Times on Thursday. The British publications added: “There can be little doubt that he will be tempted back to Formula One now that his nemesis has been removed.

Late yesterday, Mosley sent the FOTA a letter in which he dismisses the rumor that he is to step down from his position within the FIA with immediate effect. The 69-year old Brit insisted that he will take care of business as usual until October this year.
