Deadmau5’ McLaren P1 Comes In, But the DJ Is Not Home to Take Delivery

Ever wondered how one of the world’s most wanted hybrid supercars drives, sounds and feels like? Heck, we can’t even imagine what it's like being one of only 375 people rich and powerful enough to become a McLaren P1 owner. Yet, here is Deadmau5, a millionaire DJ who wasn’t even there to take delivery when his long-awaited beauty came in the other day.

The McLaren P1 GTR was just unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, but that doesn’t mean people have lost sight of the street legal Surrey-made plug-in hybrid supercar. We sure didn’t, which is why our little autoevolution coo-coo clock just reminded us of one of the celebrities who's unit was about to be delivered.

Like we previously reported on numerous occasions, Joel Zimmerman alias Deamdau5 has been waiting for several months for McLaren to finish the supercar and deliver it. As far as we know, the car is finished in a dark blue color and there has to be at least one place where the DJ’s famous Mouse logo was engraved, most likely in the interior.

As to the price, well by now you probably heard that it starts at $1,350,000. However, as of November 2013, about 75% of P1 customers have opted for specific designs from McLaren Special Operations, raising the bar quite a bit. Since we know that the Canadian DJ bought it late last year and judging by his great enthusiasm for tuning optionals, there’s no doubt that Deadmau5 dropped around $2 million for his unit.

All these considered, it seems like Zimmerman didn’t find it important to be present when they came with the car. At least that seems to be the case judging by his tweet.

Talk about first world problems...
