A while ago, we saw the millionaire electronic music DJ bragging about his love for electric cars. Sure, there’s no surprise here, everybody has similar feelings towards a powerful EV when they first drive one. After all, there’s that distinct acceleration a green car can offer. As opposed to most of the petrolheads out there, however, Deadmau5 decided to buy one too. Unlike the others, he had to send it to the shop first.
So here we are, stepping into the showbiz world, a planet where rules change. Things do change with Deadmau5, mind you. OK, we get it, you’re loaded. No problem here. But how can a person drift a McLaren P1 in the desert, while still being fond of an electric vehicle? It’s all about the extremes with this guy and here’s why.
He started off with a Ferrari 458 Italia. He drove the car, wrapped in a Nyan Cat finish and even won the Spirit of Gumball with it. That didn’t last for long, considering the Italian automaker sent him a letter of desisting, demanding for a change. They claimed the Internet meme was interfering with the company’s emblems, blocking the famous Prancing Horse. Deadmau5 agreed with changing the wrap, but then he also sold the car.
Why? This way he could buy a different car, from a different automaker that would not stop him from being creative. Lamborghini seems like they didn’t mind the Canadian DJ’s tuning ideas, considering Deamdau5 is driving a Nyan Cat Huracan these days. You may be wondering why you’re reading all this. Some of you lovely people may have guessed, it’s a Tesla Model S P85D and yes, it belongs to him. The Insane Mode was one of the many features the car had that made him buy the EV. The point is, Zimmerman has recently decided to upgrade his car-fleet. Elon Musk’s famous green car got even greener, literally. The question is, do we like it?
