Deadmau5 Is Actually Getting a BAC Mono, to Be Delivered on December 12

It was this August when Deadmau5 took a tour at BAC Mono’s U.S. headquarters in Temecula, California getting a better look at the UK-based race car maker’s vehicle. It turns out it wasn’t just a friendly visit, as the Canadian DJ ordered one model for himself.

When rich people want, they get.

Mono is a lightweight, ultra high performance, road legal supercar designed and manufactured using the latest racing technology. That is pretty much the short description of the beast. The one-seat sportscar is built around the driver’s sizes, which is probably why Zimmerman had to get there personally. That, and also the chance to sit in one, if not even drive it on the track, of course.

The single-seater road-legal sportscar was launched in 2011 and, as most of the new models in the range, it uses carbon fiber composite construction principles employed in the DTM (German Touring Car Masters).

0 to 100 real quick

In numbers, Mono is equipped with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder Ford Duratec engine that produces 288 horsepower and 206 lb-ft (279Nm). The F3-specification six-speed sequential gearbox operates a semi-automatic transmission which was designed to complete gear shifts in 35 milliseconds. In other words, we’re talking about a machine built for speed. 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) comes in 2.8 seconds as its top speed is set at 170 mph (274 km/h).

Now, according to the guys building the car, it seems delivery date is set for December 12, which is why they thought teasing Deadmau5 with the vehicle in its current state is the right thing to do.

Meanwhile, however, Zimmerman seems to still love his McLaren 650S Spider he bought months ago, considering he posted a video with it on Instagram, recently.
