De Tomaso Shows New Logo

Many of the 70s and 80s teenager boys bedrooms' car poster collections included a special, rare Italian supercar: De Tomaso Pantera. The boys grew up and became men, but the brand didn't make it. The company was killed, but fortunately it has recently been revived.

Last year, an Italian industrialist named Gian Mario Rossingnolo decided to bring the brand back to life. The man was serious about his plan, with the incontestable proof being the fact that he acquired a former Pininfarina factory in order to use it as a production facility for De Tomaso.

Now, the company comes to show us its new logo, with the first image being published by alvolante.it via autoblog.it.

The logo was created by Peter Arnell, who was recently appointed as Chief Innovation Officer for the company. The designer decided to use a modern approach in order to show that the brand is set for a new start.

The company’s logo now shows a stylized symbol that is also linked to the former logo. The adjacent image shows how the transition between the two was made.

De Tomaso plans to offer a three model line-up. The company wants to build a premium sedan, an SUV and, of course, a coupe model. The automotive producer’s initial production plans will see it give birth to around 8,000 vehicles per year. Other media reports indicate that the brand will also build a luxury compact vehicle that will compete against the MINI and the Citroen DS3.

The first new De Tomaso vehicle(s) should arrive at next year’s Geneva Auto Show.
