The world of supercars is about to get a new baby that will come from Canada and is aimed at offering top performance in its segment.
According to car magazine, De Macross Motors Corp (DMMC), a company that was established last year, is working on a vehicle called GT1, with the project being developed together with component developer Multimatic.
At the heart of the car we will find a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 powerplant. The engine will be mid-mounted and will come from Roush Yates Racing Engines, the builder of Ford NASCAR units.
The unit will be mounted on a chassis that will use carbon fiber and aluminum. This means that the car will be light but will offer a hefty amount of structural rigidity. The connection to the road will be provided by a Multimatic Dynamic Suspension that will come with a ride height control feature.
De Macross hasn’t released the performance and pricing features for the vehicle, but the company claims that these will be comparable to what the mighty Pagani Zonda offers.
Until now, the company has built the 1:4 scale model that you see in the adjacent image, with the full-scale model being scheduled to be completed in November this year. Subsequently, the carmaker will debut testing sessions for the vehicle.
The company estimates that the vehicle will have a limited production of 200 units, with the first orders expected for next year. The project, which is backed by Korean businessman Jahon Hur, will also include three other models that will be aimed at the lower-priced segments of the supercar market.
