DC Shoes Sponsors Monster Energy Supercross for 2011

Action sports company DC Shoes signed a three-year to deal as the official and exclusive footwear sponsor of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, Feld Motor Sports announced. The FIM World Championship begins January 8, 2011 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.

This partnership is the action sport footwear and apparel company’s first sponsorship of the championship.

DC has supported some of the greatest motocross legends of all time including AMA Supercross class champions Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael and Jeff Emig, for more than ten years.

“We’re excited to be a part the most influential series in motocross through this new partnership,”
said Anton Nistl, DC’s President. “DC has a long history in the motocross industry and we’re committed to supporting its continued growth through this event and through our athletes and innovative products. This consumer is one of the most loyal and enthusiastic in all of action sports and we’re looking forward to interacting with them at this new level."

“DC is a premier action sports brand and has been a long-standing supporter of the industry, and we are excited to bring them on board for the 2011 season,”
said Dave Prater, director of supercross. “They back some of the sport’s top athletes, so their continued support strongly compliments their standing as a worldwide forerunner in action sports footwear and apparel.”

Exclusive co-branded DC and Monster Energy Supercross products, which will be marketed and sold at select DC retailers and on-site at the series’ events beginning next season, are already in the works.

DC Shoes was founded by Ken Block and Damon Way in 1993. The company’s product line includes men’s, women’s, and kids’ skateboarding and lifestyle shoes, apparel, snowboards, snowboard boots, outerwear and accessories.
