Datsun Unveils redi-GO Concept in New Delhi

Nissan's recently revived Datsun brand has just unveiled a new concept car during the 2014 New Delhi Auto Expo. Making its global debut there, the fantastic little lime green creature is called the redi-GO and strikes a Chevy Spark sort of figure.

While Datsun's first new model which has just entered production is aimed at average buyers, this concept previews something especially designed for the younger generation. These are early times for the Datsun budget brand, but our sources in India suggest a production version of the redi-GO will eventually reach production.

Shiro Nakamura, SVP and Chief Creative Officer, said: “Although Datsun redi-GO CONCEPT is just that – a concept – it shows clearly the way we are thinking. It’s an ambitious styling exploration but, being a Datsun, it is a logical design, too”.
Nissan's designers created a car with both city car proportions and go-anywhere attitude, visible in the slightly raised ground clearance and even in the name of the concept, which suggests it's ready to go anywhere. The most stryking features on the car are the distinctive headlights, which incorporate narrow strips of LEDs in them.
