When a project aims at raising a quarter of a million dollars from crowdfunding and receives 12 times the amount well before the campaign is over, things start to look interesting. Welcome Dash, the latest creation of German company Bragi and most likely the world’s smartest headphones. And yes, they also make a nifty addition to any rider’s gear.
In few words, the Dash are wireless in-ear Bluetooth headphones loaded with the most advanced technology. Not only are they allowing you to stream music from your mobile phone, but also come with their own 4GB storage, countless biometric sensors, intercom and phone functions and more.

Add in noise canceling technologies and seamless integration with a whopping number of daily activities and routines, and still there’s more to these headphones we could talk about. They have also been designed using extensive knowledge from multiple industrial and medical fields, and may very well be the next best thing in personal communication an entertainment.

But there’s even more, as the Bragi Dash headphones are compatible with both iOS and Android devices and come with a software development kit. This means that programmers around the world can work on a ton of new, original and practical applications, expanding the usability of the Dash headphones. And yes, they’re also compatible with Windows phones.

These headphones can already monitor distance, oxygen levels, calories, heart rate and hear rate variations and body temperature, while picking up the human voice straight from the ear bone, providing crystal-clear communication free from outside noise. At time same time, the Dash can track distance and speed, drop rate and altitude when connected to a GPS mobile phone, with added data on steps, cadence, rotation, g-force, airtime and many more.

I know this sounds like Star Trek, but these amazing headphones will become available in early 2015. You still have the chance to pre-order them on Kickstarter for $199 (€144), so get a grip and get them. Via motorbiker
