The Russian tuners at Dartz just won’t abandon the fight, as the ‘whale penis saga’ continues with a new episode, aimed at showing everybody how much they regret using the whale penis leather upholstery in the $1.5 million Prombron Monaco Red Diamond Edition SUV.
After the weird interior choice got a lot of negative response from Greenpeace, the World Wildlife Fund, and apparently even Pamela Anderson, the tuners stroke back, this time in a more animal-friendly way, but without giving up the whole whale penis idea.
During the 2010 Top Marques Monaco event, due to be held in mid-April, Dartz will showcase not only the revised (whale skin-free) luxury SUV, but it will also introduce a Porsche 911 fitted with whale skin vinyl - an artificial material made to replicate the feel of whale skin.
The Russians got very excited with finding this solutions and released a statement in their own characteristic way which, we might add, is quite fun to read:
“This vinyl is not regular vinyl which became more and more popular car trend. This is authentic copy ....yes, this is a copy of WHALE PENIS SKIN SURFACE. But no whale lost their penis - as this is artificial covering.”
“And that's not all,” the company statement continues.
“On liner of WHALE.SKIN.VINYL You will see SAVE The WHALES logo - so everybody, who installed WHALE.SKIN.VINYL oin their car will support SAVE The WHALES movement and will allow Earth Biggest Penises (to 2,40 m) owners to feel safe in ocean - as DARTZ created an alternative to their skin!”
