Darth Vader Voice for TomTom [Making-Of Video]

How would you feel if you were driving down any given road, and at one point your navigation system goes: "Turn left you must..." Pretty neat, huh? Well, it's now possible, thanks to TomTom, LucasFilm and VoiceSkins.com.

After last June TomTom brought the voice of Homer Simpson into the car, the navigation solution provider is now doing the same with the voices from Star Wars. The first to hit the market will be the voice of Darth Vader, followed sometime during summer by C-3PO (June), Yoda (July) and Han Solo (August).

"We are thrilled to launch these exclusive Star Wars voices, available only on TomTom devices," Alain Pakiry, senior vice president for marketing at TomTom said when announcing the voices. "Now, Star Wars fans around the world can unite their passion for Star Wars with their love of the road, making every drive more personal and exciting."

Vader's voice will be accompanied by sound effects taken from the movie, including light sabre sounds and TIE fighter flybys. Certain commentaries are accompanied by Imperial March music.

"The TomTom brand is synonymous with high quality navigation. Star Wars fans are sure to be delighted when they hear just how great these voices sound on their TomTom navigation devices," added Casey Collins, director of international licensing and marketing at Lucas Licensing.

The voice costs 7.95 pounds and can be purcahsed at the following link, where you can find audio samples as well.
