Little did we know a couple of hours ago that legendary pro-skater Danny Way is an M3 fan. That all changed minutes ago when we saw a video posted by BMW on their Youtube account featuring Danny talking about his passion for cars.
The 40-year old skater, known for his extreme stunts (like jumping into a skateboard ramp from a helicopter or across the Great Wall of China) didn’t hesitate to step in front of the lens and walk us through what made him get an E46 M3.

And who wouldn’t like an E46 M3? That car might very well be the best iteration in five generations of M cars in the 3 Series range. With a stylish and sober look, with an inline 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and perfect weight distribution, the E46 impressed back then and still does today.

So what made Danny get one? For starters, he always wanted a 3 Series ever since he was a kid because they could race without being too obtrusive or obvious about it, keeping their cool at all times.

His 2004 M3 is ‘a beast’ as he puts it. Furthermore, it ‘represents mechanically and esthetically what he does on a skateboard’. We couldn’t have said it better.

When he jumps over those megaramps, you can actually see a gracious move through the air, one that implies that what he does is as simple as breathing. However, little people actually know that in order to have such grace in mid air, 100 meters above ground and still make it back alive, there’s a lot of effort being put in. Check out what he had to say in the video below.
