There seems to be a growing trend among YouTubers that sees them destroy perfectly good cars just for fun and, of course, the views and new subscribers these videos bring.
It wouldn't exactly be fair to judge them too harshly, though. It would be easy to go on a rant about how some people can't afford a used car, and these guys are wasting new ones just for kicks, yet if you think about it, the entertainment industry has always been wasteful.
Do you think they didn't destroy cars to make Hollywood movies? They sure did, the only difference is that regular Joes can be content producers too now, not just the film studios. It may seem different, but essentially the same thing: sacrificing a poor vehicle for the sake of entertainment, with the ultimate goal of making a buck.
Recently, we've been following Mike from Street Speed 717 and his appalling treatment of a brand-new RAM 1500 TRX - though the look of the truck with the 44-inch mud bogger is starting to grow on us as it's making the stock version look rather tame. Mind you, Danny's shenanigans long precede that.
It was actually back in July when Duncan posted a clip of himself bashing the central display of the Tesla Model 3, but not before he had done a crude job of cutting away the EV's roof and turning it into a convertible. People who've been following Danny ever since would have been up to date with the state of the Model 3, but even if we haven't, we can't say we were surprised to find it worse for wear.
Let's just say that however bad it was, it was nothing compared to the condition it'll be in by the end of this clip. Considering it involves Tannerite, a scoped rifle, and an automatic rifle - and the Model 3 was the target for all three - you could even be surprised at how well it fares. It's mostly left in one piece, so that's a plus.
You can watch the entire clip for more of Danny's fooling around, or if you're just here for some EV carnage, you can skip to around the 4:30 mark.
