Here’s a question for you. Why isn't Aston Martin willing to sell you the Daniel Craig-designed DBS Superleggera in the following photo gallery and video promo? That’s because Neiman Marcus has the final word in regard to this special edition, bundled in a package that will set you back $700,007.
Someone certainly has a passion for the number seven given that only seven “007 Aston Martin designed by Daniel Craig” packages are available. According to a statement from Neiman Marcus, each of these grand tourers comes in “a beautiful inky blue and features a powerful twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 engine, producing immense torque and extraordinary in-gear performance.”

We wouldn’t exactly agree to that claim. 725 PS (715 horsepower) and 900 Nm (664 pound-feet) and an eight-speed automatic transmission make up for a great combination, but then again, McLaren has a seven-speed DCT and 800 PS (789 horsepower) to offer from 4.0 liters and eight cylinders.

It’s also worth highlighting that Aston Martin is developing two mid-engined supercars with know-how from the Valkyrie, namely the Valhalla and all-new Vanquish. Both will feature a twin-turbocharged V6 with electrification to boot, and in the case of the Vanquish, a manual is also considered.

Turning our attention back to the limited-edition DBS Superleggera, those $700,007 also include the all-platinum Seamaster Diver 300 M Omega timepiece with a unique hand-graved case back. Tickets to the world premiere of the new James Bond film – No Time To Die – round off the list of goodies from Neiman Marcus. The thing is, the numbers don’t add up.

DBS Superleggera pricing starts at $304,995 for the 2019 model year, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300 M is approximately $10,400 with titanium and gold detailing, and two tickets to the movie shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. All told and taking the pricing of Q by Aston Martin into consideration, let’s say the package totals roughly $400,000.

If you’re curious if Neiman Marcus is pocketing the rest, the answer to that is no. “With the purchase of each 007 Fantasy Gift, 12 percent of the purchase will be donated to The Opportunity Network, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $330,000.” In other words, $84,000 from each purchase will be used to make the world a better place.
