Danica Makes History Again, Boosts Go Daddy’s Traffic

Danica Patrick, probably the sexiest auto racing driver, doubled last year’s Go Daddy campaign results with the new Indy 500 ad. It was enough of her to mention in the commercial “See what happens next at GoDaddy.com” and her fans did just that.

Danica was the first woman to win an Indy car race and the past weekend she made history once again. Her third place win at the Indianapolis 500 is the best ever by a woman at that race.

"First and foremost, congratulations to Danica on her historic performance,” said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. “She made us all proud today on and off the track. It was amazing to watch the response to our new commercial...visitors jumping online so quickly to see our Internet-Only version.”

The traffic actually began to record a significant raise with the ‘tease’ to Danica’s “Speeding” commercial. During the race broadcast, web site visits increased by up to 163 percent compared to last year, and immediately after the race it got to an overwhelming 570 percent.

Seeing Danica’s “Speeding” ad could make any viewer go back to GoDaddy.com and check what happens next. She is pulled over by a cop on a deserted highway for speeding. A female cop. A tall, blonde, female cop. The officer recognizes Danica and starts a Go Daddy audition. Stripping. On the hood of Danica’s car. Wouldn’t that make you want to visit the Go Daddy website again and see the conclusion?

"A lot of people tease me about the Go Daddy ads because they push the envelope," said Danica. "But GoDaddy-esque ads are fun to make, fun to watch... you just never know what's going to happen!"
