Dani Pedrosa Now in Final Recovery Stage

Repsol Honda Team rider Dani Pedrosa is now in the final stages of recovery from the shoulder injury he sustained last October and is excited to return to training in early January.The Spaniard will spend a full month working on his physical condition to ensure that he is in the best possible shape for the first MotoGP test of 2011 at Sepang, Malaysia, between February 1-3.

Pedrosa, who finished the 2010 MotoGP World Championship second overall, was told by specialists to rest the shoulder, which sustained heavy trauma damage when broke his left collarbone in two places during practice for October’s Japanese Grand Prix.

“The injury was pinned and plated at Barcelona’s USP Instittut Universitari Dexeus, but serious bruising and swelling in the shoulder caused Pedrosa a serious lack of strength and feeling throughout the arm during the last few races of the season,” a statement from the Repsol Honda team reads.

Dani Pedrosa has already participated at a pre-Christmas charity event in Spain yesterday. Specifically, he was one of several stars that attended the TV3 Marathon which this year raised money for those who have suffered spinal cord or brain injuries.

Then on December 21, Pedrosa will take part in an event to mark the publication of a children’s book at Barcelona’s Fnac Illa Diagonal.

“‘Two mechanical elves for Dani Pedrosa’ tells the story of Dani’s first steps in the world of racing. As per Pedrosa’s wishes, five percent of book sales profits will go towards the NGO SOS Aldeas Infantiles children’s charity. The book launch will include a media presentation at 17:30 and a book-signing session for fans from 18:00 to 19:00,”
