Dan Wheldon Dies at Las Vegas Indy 300

The red flag was up on the 12th lap of this weekend’s Las Vegas 300 IndyCar race that took place on Sunday, the final race in the season which stood a chance of being one of the closest ends to a season in recent Indy history.
However, this isn’t what the race to be a glorious weekend of racing, as it was marked by tragedy when two-time winner and 2005 champion Dan Wheldon, one of the top competitors, died due to the injuries suffered in a crash that involved 15 other cars.

The crash came about at turn two after a minor bump between two cars set off a large, chain-reaction disaster. With no time to avoid it, Wheldon’s car flew into the air and hit the wall and fence. After the accident, he was taken to hospital by helicopter but he died due to his extensive injuries.

Rest In Peace Dan Wheldon

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
