Like most of us out there, the weekend usually means having at least a bit of fun, whether it’s a night out with friends or a movie with your girlfriend. But for “The Renegade of Instagram,” like we love to call him, it’s yet another great occasion to surprise everybody. This time, however, Dan Bilzerian left the bikini girls behind only to race a 600 horsepower super truck.
The millionaire poker player spent his weekend over at Costa Mesa, California for this year’s Sands Sports Super Show exhibition. Obviously Bilzerian couldn’t just visit all the monster trucks and take pictures, so he got one of those beasts for himself and raced it. At least there was a professional racer in the passenger seat.
For those who don’t know, we’re talking about identically prepared high-horsepower trucks made to resemble their scaled-down Traxxas radio-control-car counterparts. The versatile off-road trucks race on virtually any surface, being designed to ride shotgun.
These monsters come with 600 horsepower engines generating speeds upwards of 130 miles per hour (209 km/h). Races feature man-made ramps set up in strategic locations throughout each course which allow the trucks to fly through the air nearly 20 feet (6 meters) of the ground and hundreds of feet down course.
Sounds like fun, right? It probably is considering the hustler even left the girls home this time, a thing he almost never does. Even though we only have pictures, Bilzerian says there’s also a video in development, so we can’t wait for that to show up.
