It seems that there is a love story slowly developing for the last couple of weeks or so between China and Mercedes-Benz.
We say because more and more optimistic news about the three-pointed star brand are coming to us from that region of the world.
Daimler's joint venture as far as the van business goes in the Middle Kingdom, Fujian Benz Automotive (FBAC), has just secured a major order by the Dalian Wanda Group, comprising no less than 85 Mercedes-Benz Viano 3.0 L vans.
“The decision to have a fleet of Mercedes-Benz Viano vans is a clear indication of the trust that the Dalian Wanda Group places in Fujian Benz Automotive, our products and services. Our Chinese customers value the comfort and safety of these locally produced vehicles,” said René Reif, CEO of FBAC. “Thanks to our product development center, which opened in March, we will be able to tailor our vans even more closely to the needs of our Chinese customers in the future,” assured Reif.
Over 70 of the ordered vehicles have been delivered, with some of them having been already used on an exclusive shuttle assignment for Hollywood movie stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
