The offensive started by Daimler and Mercedes-Benz a couple of years ago needs to be backed up by new or upgraded facilities. The Swabians know that, and they're not going to just sit and do nothing about this.

Last year, Daimler - thanks to Mercedes-Benz's activity - enjoyed a great deal of success, not only in the sales department but also if we look at the number of new models launched by the German giant.

Therefore, the news that the company will invest around €750 million ($826 million, at current exchange rates) in its Bremen plant should not be taken as a major surprise. According to Autonews, all the money will be used to modernized the Mercedes-Benz factory in Bremen.

As a parenthesis, in 2013 the plant rolled 340,000 vehicles off the production line, transforming it into Mercedes' second largest facility in the world.

Back to the main point of the article, the same source says Mercedes-Benz wants to turn the Bremen site into a leading production plant for the C-Class, a model also built on American soil, in Mercedes-Benz's Tuscaloosa facility. However, we don't get to know what new models are going to be built in Bremen. As a reminder, Mercedes is already assembling the E-Class there, along with the SL, SLK, and the GLK.

After and if the investment is granted, the Bremen plant will receive another 500 new workers while officials are looking for human and robots to develop better working together relationships.
