With no less than 594,900 passenger cars and commercial vehicles sold all over the world in the third quarter of 2013, the Daimler Group surpassed last year's performance in the same period by 13%.
The Mercedes-Benz Cars division was the heavy bearer for most of the sales, obviously, with no less than 395,400 units sold in Q3 of 2013, up 14% from last year. The return on sales was 7.3 per cent compared to 6.4 per cent in Q3 of 2012.

The ongoing growth mostly came in countries like China, the United States and Western Europe, while the expanded range of compact cars brought a major contribution to the overall sales as well.

Daimler Trucks posted third-quarter unit sales higher with 4 per cent compared to the last year level, with 124,500 vehicles sold.

The Mercedes-Benz Vans division posted a unit sales increase by 17% to 65,300 vehicles in Q3 of 2013, with the return on sales improving from 3.6 per cent to 6.7 per cent.

Daimler Buses also increased its worldwide sales by 17% to 9,600 units sold in the aforementioned period, primarily thanks to increased demand in Western Europe and Latin America.
