Daimler Appoints New Chairman of Financial Services

Klaus Entenmann has been appointed the new Chairman of Daimler Financial Services effective December 16, 2009, succeeding Jurgen Walker, German group Daimler announced today. The 53-year-old manager is currently Member of the Daimler Financial Services Board of Management responsible for the Americas Region as well as President and CEO of Daimler Financial Services Americas.

"In the last 5 years as Chairman of Daimler Financial Services, Jurgen Walker has successfully positioned the Financial Services division in the market. He quickly formed a powerful Financial Services business after the separation from Chrysler and navigated the company very experienced through the crisis in recent times. The Daimler Board of Management would like to thank Jürgen Walker and wish him all the best for his retirement,“
said Bodo Uebber, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG with responsibility for Finance & Controlling and Daimler Financial Services.

Walker started his career at Mercedes-Benz more than 30 years ago and after the acquiring of Chrysler he was one of the first German managers to join the Chrysler Group in the United States. Klaus Entenmann, the successor of Jurgen Walker, has more than 25 years experience in the financial services business.

“Klaus Entenmann has successfully built up the financial services operations in North and South America. Due to his leadership, we are rated number one in dealer satisfaction on both the car and truck side in this region. I'm excited to have him in this new position as Chairman of our global operations,”
Uebber said.

Franz Reiner (42), who is currently responsible for Mercedes-Benz Financial in the USA and the financial services operations in Canada, will be the one to replace Entenmann.
