Daimler AG has received the maximum of 100 points in the “Climate Disclosure Leadership Index” and an “A” rating in the “Climate Performance Leadership Index”, both climate protection indices being part of the Carbon Disclosure Project Organization (CDP).
When talking about CO2 emissions, the Germans have managed to decrease their model fleet average by more than 20% in the last five years, to 140 g/km, with the 2016 goal being as low as 125g/km.

Not only that, but as far as emission standards go, Mercedes-Benz cars and trucks are the only companies in the industry to have had so many Euro 6 compliant engines years ahead the enforcing of the standard on January 1st 2014.

Also in the last five years, Mercedes-Benz plants' emissions have fallen by over 28% per manufactured car by using more efficient production technologies, optimizing the heating and ventilation, intelligent shut-off control for the production facilities and even interior campaigns that promoted a more sustainable behavior by employees.

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is a non-profit organization that was founded in the year 2000 to analyze the climate change strategies and sustainability of companies listed on the stock exchange, with the focus being on CO2 management and reduction targets.
