Japanese carmaker Daihatsu revealed today its lineup for the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, scheduled to take place between October 24 and November 4, 2009. Just like the other manufacturers, Daihatsu also has a theme for the show, namely the “Innovation for Tomorrow,” expressing keywords such as eco, lifestyle and fun.

The highlight in Daihatsu’s booth is the e:S concept, which makes use of a compact body, slim, lightweight seats and light materials, while being able to accommodate four adult passengers. It is equipped with a conventional mini vehicle engine fitted with a combustion control system developed by Daihatsu and an EGR, as well as an Idling Stop System.

Joining the e:S will be the Tanto Exe and Tanto Exe Custom, two planned production vehicles based on the Tanto. However, Daihatsu announces that they feature a lighter body and higher fuel efficiency, as well as superior styling, a luxurious feel and a high level of comfort.

The Deca Deca concept uses a low, flat floor and pillarless, side-by-side doors (135 degrees), slim fold-away seats, a robust exterior in a three-dimensional form, and a functional interior. Finally, the ‘basket', a four-seat vehicle with a removable hardtop roof over the front seats and a removable canvas top over the rear seats, will also be showcased at the event.

Aside from the aforementioned concept vehicles there will be a number of production models, including the Mira, Mira Cocoa, Move, Move Conte and Move Custom, Copen, Tanto Custom and the Tanto Welcome Seat (fitted with a rotating and sliding seat to facilitate boarding and exiting the vehicle).
