Daihatsu Rat Rod with Rolls-Royce Engine Was Chopped in France

The mustard-colored piece of steel you see here came to life as a Daihatsu TAFT, a cute and tiny offroader that didn't mean to offend anybody. Well, all that has now changed, with the thing being turned into a rat rod that's as unapologetic as they get.

It all started with chopping off an important part of the pillars and since we're looking at a work-in-progress here, the signs of the work are still visible. Then, the body was placed on an unspecified chassis, which might just come from a Rolls-Royce. Speaking of which, the machine is probably animated by an RR powerplant.

Note that the contraption comes from France, having been released by a shop called Danton Arts Kustoms - the label took to Instagram to share the contraption with the world, mentioning that it packs "Rolls-Royce organs".

The list of details that draw attention includes the offroad-ready wheels and tires, as well as the metallic hat that serves as an engine cover.

Now, you might want to know more about the fate of the cars in the background, such as that Roller of the air-cooled 911. Well, you should know the said shop constantly delivers contraptions created from famous metal.

In fact, we've previously shown you hot rods/rat rods coming from the label, the kind that might make this Daihatsu seem... less of a polarising monster.

We started keeping an eye on the shop last year, when it came up with an air-cooled Porsche Neunelfer that held a V8 in its nose.

Then there was the Lamborghini Espada that got chopped, albeit while keeping its original V12 heart, which was displayed with the help of an open engine compartment.

Oh, and let's not forget the non-offroad-savvy Jeep Wrangler whose also-open engine compartment held a V8.

And it seems that these metal tales won't stop anytime soon.
