The i3 is a special car, since nobody has ever been able to buy an electric BMW before. But learning about it from a press release and actually owning one are two different things.
Chances are your average i3 buyer has a young kid just like the one in the clip below, and that kid will definitely ask "why?". Just like we grew up with regular family cars, this boy is going to grow up thinking electric cars are so cool, big versions of his toys.

The i3 is ideal for city driving, with a range of 80 to 100 miles on a full charge (128 km to 100 km), while the optional range extender 160 to 186 miles (250 to 300 kilometers). And if you're worried about how long lasting the battery is, BMW covers it for 8-years or 100,000 miles.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
