After 14 negotiations attempts and two days of strike, Romanian car manufacturer Dacia has finally managed to make a deal with its workers.
Dacia announced today that it had successfully ended negotiations with its workers. The new deal will increase workers' salary by 6% starting with May this year. They will also benefit from a RON 1,680 (€384) bonus for last year’s performances.
Initial worker demands were to receive a RON 480 (€109) raise, RON 1600 (€363) for performance bonus and increased vacations.
As the 6% salary increase is less than the amount demanded and the company didn’t want to hear about longer vacations, the workers had to be satisfied only with the increased bonus. Or maybe, they became frightened as Dacia declared it would shift production to Morocco, should they not be able to find a solution to satisfy both parties.
