After 14 failed negotiation attempts between Dacia and its workers over increasing their salaries, the Romanian automaker is considering moving production to the Morocco plant.
Dacia vice president Constantin Stroe said that if the protests won’t end reasonably for both parts, and the employee will continue make unrealistic demands, he is thinking of shift most of the car production to another plant in Morocco.
The workers demand a €109 salary raise and €363 for performance bonuses, in opposition to the €39.6 and €204 offered by the company.
Dacia leadership considers that its offer represents a 9% salary raise, well above the average growth in 2013, that lies between 0 and 5%, and thinks the workers demands will affect the company’s competitiveness on the low budget car market.
Renault Group's plant in Tangier, Morocco, is already producing the Dacia Lodgy and MCV van.
