It's been almost two years since Dacia's budget sedan entered the second phase of its existence, bringing huge improvements in design and build quality. However, it's still nowhere near what German automakers can offer in the business class.
But the Logan is still a very young product, having just celebrated its 10th birthday, plus it's amazingly successful. The Golf or Passat weren't much more impressive when in their first and second generations, and just look at how far the two have come. That's probably why today we're looking into a few renderings that present a futuristic Logan with clear Volkswagen (Passat) CC inspiration.
It's called the "Logos" and is the digital creation of Ciprian Andrus from Romania. Based on the current Dacia design language, he created a four-door coupe with sweeping lines and and affinity for aggression.
The young designer's goals were to "surpass the limits imposed until now onto the Dacia brand, making it [the Logos] into a rival for the strongest brands around, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW."
Why would we care about a car that will most likely never be built? Because this is what every guy who drives a Logan right now actually wants. And how do you turn chicken soup into a Germanic gourmet meal? By adding the best ingredients possible: large wheels, chin spoilers, sharp lines and a gaping grille.
Dacia is currently the fastest growing brand in Europe, gaining 0.5% in market share for the first half of 2014. The Romanian budget brand has once again exceeded previous sales results, showing a 24% gain during the first six months of 2014. Just give them a little more time and they could become the Eastern European Skoda of the year 2024.
