Dacia Duster Leaked Brochure, New Details Released

Dacia will launch its first ever SUV at the Geneva Motor Show next week but, prior to the public release in Switzerland, here are some new details included in a leaked brochure that reached the web a few days ago. The information is obviously unconfirmed and we still don't know whether this is indeed a leakage or just a marketing technique to promote the Duster but here's what we have just found out.

First of all, the car will be offered in four different configurations, Duster, Ambiance, Laureate and Prestige. The entry-level version is the Duster and, just as you would expect from a low-budget trim, it comes only with a few features. For example, it comes with ABS and EBA, airbags for both the driver and the front passenger, power steering, manual exterior mirrors and radio connectivity (so no player included in the package).

The next version is the Ambiance which includes all the aforementioned features plus front power windows and side and thorax airbags. The Laurate configuration adds electric and heated mirrors, fog beams, trip computer and manual climate controls. The top-of-the-range Prestige also includes and MP3 player plus some special packages that comprise 16-inch aluminum wheels and leather-trimmed steering wheel.

There will be three engines available across the range, as follows: two diesels - 1.5 dCi 85 (85 horsepower) and 1.5 dCi 110 (107 horsepower) - plus a gasoline unit - 1.6 16V 110 (105 horsepower). There are two transmission options, manual with five or six speeds.

In terms of performance, the top engine is the 1.5 dCi 110 mated to a six-speed gearbox that goes from 0 to 100 m/h in 11.8 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 171 km/h (106 mph). The biggest disappointment seems to be the 1.5 dCi 85 version that tops at 155 km/h (96.3 mph) and helps the car sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.9 seconds.

The 4x4 configuration is only available with either the 1.5 dCi 110 with a six-speed transmission or the 1.6 16V 110 with the same six-speed gearbox.

Pricing is not confirmed but for some rumors on the matter, follow this link.
