It was back in 2005 when Renault re-launched the Romanian Dacia brand in Europe, turning it into a successful business once again. Today, the company announced that it will be releasing special editions of its core models to celebrate the occasion.
At the upcoming Geneva Motor Show we’ll be seeing the so-called ‘Laureate Prime’ special versions of the Sandero, Duster and Logan MCV models. The extra equipment that will make them stand out will include the exclusive Cosmos Blue paint, Dark Metal alloy wheels and door mirror covers, blue upholstery for the interior and seat belts along with grey top-stitching for the seats and special blue edge floor mats.
As far as the equipment inside goes, you’ll be glad to learn that these special cars will benefit from all the available technology at Dacia and more.
That includes the Dacia Media NAV Evolution infotainment system, a leather steering wheel, climate control, cruise control with speed limiter and electric windows for the front doors. The infotainment system uses a 7-inch display that has touch-screen technology. It’s also featuring satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity both for phone calls and audio streaming.
As for the engines under the bonnet, you can have your pick but nothing extraordinary is available. The same petrol and diesel plants are offered, in both 2x4 and 4x4 variants for the Duster. Now if only they came with an automatic gearbox...
Prices haven’t been released yet but since Dacia is a budget company don’t expect them to be too high. Sales will begin this spring, after the Geneva Motor Show and all models will benefit from the same 3-year warranty as before.
