Dacia 1300 6x6 Is the Mercedes G63 6-Wheeler's Agricultural Cousin

Mercedes isn't going to make a lot of G63 AMG 6x6 models, which is just as well considering the number of people in the world who are rich and crazy enough to buy one is strictly limited. But that leaves some with a very serious problem: what do you do if for whatever reason you can't buy the same truck as Dan Bilzerian.

It's very simple, you just take a crappy old Dacia and turn it into a dream car… of sorts. It's not only going to be cheap, but also much more fuel efficient than the G63 AMG 6x6's twin-turbo V8 lump.

As far as we know, Romanian budget brand Dacia never built any 6x6 models. There might have been one or two built for an Arab prince, but this is clearly not a gold-plated accessory, it's a farm truck.

According to some sources, the four-door family sedan is actually sitting on a platform for the Aro 240, which was built in very limited numbers as a 6-wheeler. That probably means that under the bonnet is not a dismal 1.3-liter engine, but a bigger 2.5-liter one, complete with a 100 liter fuel tank.

The reason for keeping this Frankensteinian monster on the road could be financial, as the simple plow mounted on the back indicates the Dacia recently saw hard work in a field. Life might be a game for mister Bilzerian, but some people just need 6-wheel drive to feed their families.

As with most weird things in the world, this is the work of an amateur inventor going by the biblical name Moses, who lives in the Romanian county of Alba. He says the car now has 350mm (13.7 inches) ground clearance and 5 times the original horsepower output (we don't buy that).

Oh and for the record, last year, we discovered a 6-wheeled version of the Duster, which had also been converted into a pickup truck. Secretly, somebody at Dacia wants to turn the company into Mercedes-Benz. You've been warned, Dieter Zetsche!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
