While many aficionados dream of driving to the Nurburgring, there are also people who like to get to the famous German circuit on two wheels. And we're not talking about motorcyclists here. Instead, we're refferring to Greb, a bycicle fan who pedaled his way across Europe before hitting the Green Hell.
Trevor, the byciclist, was planning to take Black Betty, his bike, across the Ring, but, since such vehicles are not allowed to enter the Nordschleife, he had to settle for a lap in a car - the guy also came up with a nickname for the his trailer, calling it Zero Fox.
Nevertheless, as Ring settler Misha Charoudin explains in the footage at the bottom of the page, Trevor got to ride shotgun in a BMW M2 that was put through its paces on the track, so the man got his fair share of giggles. And, to give you an idea of what he experienced during the said passenger adventure, we're inviting you to check out the second YouTube clip below (the one on the right), which shows the said Bimmer engaging in a hot lap.
Now, even a pedal lover might wonder why somebody would travel such a distance on a bicycle. Well, Trevor provides an explanation on the Facebook page dedicated to his journey. The page also offers a map of his journey, which you can see above.
"I've just turned 47 as of 11th July 2016. Had a heart attack at 43 and spent some time considering all the things I haven't done that I wanted to. This tour has been a dream of mine since forever so the chance, given my "near-death experience " had to be grabbed with both hands. The rest as they say, is history...my history. Been healthy ever since the attack so not worried about it happening again...much. I take my meds and with the exercise I'm getting, I'll be grand," the traveler explained.
This tale reminds us of another overly long Ring-concluded adventure we discussed last year. The stunt saw a South Korean rider pulling a 100-day scooter experience, but the motor of his machine meant that he could use this to lap the Green Hell.
