The Citroen C3 has recently received a mid-life facelift, and by recently, we mean at the beginning of the year. This car is by no means a segment leader, but it is French and that brings a certain… je ne sais quoi that we love.
In this funny commercial which seems to be exclusive to the French market, the supermini promotes its new BlueHDI (that's diesel) and PureTech (that's a petrol fuel-sipper) technology in a really funny way.
The idea is that because the cars are so frugal now, you make very few stops at the gas station. The hero of the ad is not the driver, but his passenger, a cute little French Bulldog with pointy ears and stiff shoulders.
While the owner pumps petrol into his tank, the dog starts to stretch and prepare for the long journey ahead. And we don't mean stretch just a little, we mean full-on yoga/pilates, including doing the splits.
And did you know there really is such a thing as dog yoga? Supposedly, you take the pooch with you to class and do all sorts of stretching exercises with him. Apparently, it's very popular in Japan, which doesn't surprise us that much.
Tech bits
The C3 facelift introduced the first PureTech petrol to the range in early 2014. The new 1.0-liter VTi PureTech replaces the old 1.1-liter and produces 67 hp, 7 more than the outgoing model. There's also a 1.2-liter model which supposedly produces 82 hp. The most efficient model is the BlueHDI Airdream model, which produces only 87 grams per kilometer of CO2.
