Remember Victory’s Operation Octane dealership custom build contest? Great, because if you are going to attend the New York Progressive International Motorcycle Show (IMS) this weekend, you’ll be among the first to see the bikes in flesh and bone.
Just yesterday Indian Motorcycle confirmed its attendance at IMS at the end of the week, and now Victory says it will be present too, along with the Polaris Slingshot at the Javits Center.
If you’re around, don’t forget to check out their stand and see the winners of the Operation Octane contest as well as the Victory Cross Country Tour Swiss used by Urs “Grizzly” Pedraita this summer in his world-record endurance run around the world. He rode 62,000 miles over six continents in just 72 days.
In case you missed the news, the winner of the North America Operation Octane is Rick Fairless’ “Evil Ethel”. The bike got named after Rick’s dog, an Old English female sheepdog, which is said to be cute and lovable but wild and crazy at the same time.
The European Operation Octane winner is Iwan-Bikes GMBH’s “Desert Racer“, which is the bike I liked the most in the contest. Built in a rat style, it comes with knobby tires, a low handlebar, metal radiator protection, a custom rear fender, over-bags and a hand-painted worn-look finish.
Other things to check out at the show would be the custom Slingshot made by The Auto Firm, sweepstakes that could win you a Victory Magnum or a Slingshot SLR as well as coupons that will extend your warranty by one year if you buy a new motorcycle from the Polaris group.
If you’re already a Victory motorcycle owner, don’t forget to show your key or a picture with you and your machine to the staff there to receive a special gift.
