Britain's Kevil's Speed Shop is a workshop that delivers mostly BMW-based custom machines, but these amazing fellows will never turn down a customer with a brilliant project in mind. And that's why they agreed to work on Adam's Ural sidecar when he asked if they could provide him with one extra seat.
Kevil's Speed Shop went on to modify the sidecar and opted to eliminate the trunk, replacing it with a rumble seat. Seen from afar, the sidecar looks almost casual, but once you draw nearer, the two custom leather straps and buckles will reveal that there is more to this three-wheeler than meets the eye.
The entire seat array was overhauled, and now the bike is upholstered in genuine leather, with diamond stitching for the rider and the passenger behind him/her, and parallel stitching for the other two seats and backrests.
Because the customer wanted the sidecar to become as British as possible, Kevil's Speed Shop installed a Brooklands racing windshield on the caddy. It can also be lowered when needed, and looks top-notch when in position.
The bike received Brembo calipers for more consistent braking power, an offset headlight complemented by an auxiliary light on the caddy fender. An aftermarket taillight and turn signals were also installed, alongside a right side racing number plate similar to that in the front.
A rounded fuel tank replaced the rather inexpressive Ural one. Specific info on the build is not available yet, so we'd guess that the tank is a classic Triumph unit. Finally, the Ural got a smoked silver livery accented with intense red, and a combination of glossy and matte black.
There's been a hefty infusion of British custom DNA in this Ural that for some, recognizing the Russian machine will be difficult. So now, wife and two kids, or three friends, of which one must be of a shorter stature, are definitely doable when it comes to fun weekend rides.
