It's not everyday when you see a Hayabusa whose wheel spokes you don't see... If such an opening phrase seems confusing, taking a good look at the LRG custom Suzuki Hayabusa from acclaimed builder Nick Anglada, would be even better.
Skip the neat white paint job with bright green accents making the bike look infinitely more elegant than the Busa already is. Admire the CNC-engraved metal pieces adding a unique look for this GSX1300R beast; you'll either hate or love the golden finish of most metallic parts. Some might call it useless bling, while some may say it's exactly what the white bike needed.
But looking closer you'll see no spokes on the rims. The Busa just “floats” and the untrained eye, or the quick glance can't seem to figure out what sorcery is going on. It's plastic magic time!
The Metalsport wheels have replaced the traditional spokes with a thick sheet of hardened polycarbonate so transparent it tricks the eye into believing the Hayabusa hovers in mid-air. The special plastic disc wheels are DOT and TUV-certified for safe operation and man, they look awesome!
Add in the custom trellis-frame swingarm, custom camera under the seat feeding rear images to a display mounted on the upper clamp of then handlebars and other transparent fairing components letting the inner workings of the Hayabusa on display and you get a bike that both fast and utterly cool.
And if you think $50,000 (€38,642) is too much for the LRG, bear in mind the rims alone were $12,000 (€9,274).
