Even the nicest bikes crash and they can get so thrashed you won't be able to tell them. While some go to the scrapyard, some get restored to their original glory and shine... and some get changed forever.
It's the case of this 2007 Ducati 1098 owned by Alonzo Bodden, damaged pretty bad after a highside crash. Instead of heading towards a Ducati dealership to buy the missing parts and have the bike made whole again, Alonzo went to Nick Anglada's custom shop and gave the bike a completely new identity and a new life.

Nick Anglada's approach to repairing a mauled Ducati turn out a spectacular design, transforming the well-known 1098 design into a golden steampunk fighter like no other. Since a lot of the fairing was already gone, Nick went on and stripped the 1098 of everything which wasn't truly important.

And if you think that all engine covers and caps were truly important, Nick Anglada begged to differ: note the awesome cuts in the covers, showing the intricate belt works and giving this bike an almost magic look.

The 1098 got a monocoque carbon fiber subframe from Double Dog Moto, a clear-coated new Ducati tank and LSL headlight in the vein of Yamaha MT-03. Anglada also added Showa forks with Race Tech re-valving and Race Tech rear shock, Carozzeria wheels and Beringer brake system. The awesome aggressive titanium comes from Double Dog Moto, as well, and it alone shaved 6 kg (13.2 lbs) off the 1098.
