This is Acura's most important year because for the first time in decades, the brand is mentioned in the same context as Ferrari and Lamborgini. But if you want people to like you, a custom ride made especially for the SEMA Show is still worth doing.
Acura's Crafted Performance rebirth is responsible for this display, consisting of an NSX GT3 race car atop a matching; custom fabricated trailer, towed by the 2017 Acura MDX sporting an NSX GT3-inspired racing livery. What more could you want? An engine swap, for one thing.

The trailer is a collaboration between Acura's design team and Jimmy Shine Workshop. The perimeter chassis is inspired the FIA-certified roll cage. As for the 20-inch wheels, they were borrowed from the 2017 MDX. White powder coating ties everything together nicely. Other than that, it's just a trailer; it goes up, it goes down and you can transport a car with it.

"SEMA is an opportunity to have some fun with customization concepts, and our approach this year is to showcase Acura's performance direction by literally connecting our GT3 racing program to our production models," said Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of Acura.

The SUV towing this supercar underwent a barrage of mods. The suspension was lowered by almost two inches. They also added black suspension components and orange brake calipers to match the NSX GT3. 20-inch wheels from the genuine accessories catalog were chosen. But the most custom part is the NSX-themed forward lower valance "splitter" in a carbon fiber wrap with orange detail on the perimeter. That's right, they didn't even use real carbon fiber.

A production car is coming to SEMA as well, the 2017 Acura TLX with the GT Package, which is supposed to be the missing link between motorsport and luxury. This factory-fitted kit includes a rear decklid spoiler, front spoiler, side sill garnishes and rear underbody spoiler, along with an optional 19-inch Diamond Cut wheel and tire kit. If you ask us, it looks better than the trailer.
