Custom 1932 Ford Hiboy Looks Like a Yellow Twinkie on Wheels

In the world of hot rods, hiboys are a distinct breed. The shape given by metal sculptors to this type of cars makes them stand out in the crowd like a sore thumb. Or, in our case, like a yellow Twinkie on wheels.

Every start of the year has been for quite some time the perfect opportunity to buy a hot rod, thanks to the plethora of auctions that take place across the U.S. The Barrett-Jackson sale in Scottsdale, Arizona, is just one of them, one we’ve covered extensively over the past month or so.

The auction officially kicks off this weekend, so there’s still time to have a closer look at what’s on the docket and, If need be, check the account balance to see what you can afford something.

With just a few days remaining until the start of the auction, we handpicked another of the over 1,000 cars on the list, and here it is: the custom 1932 Ford Hiboy, built back in 2012 by a garage called Steve’s Engines & Street Rods.

Befitting any Ford hot rod, this one too is powered by a Chevrolet engine, in this case a 350ci V8 unit linked to a 700R automatic transmission.

The fiberglass body of the car rides on an independent front and rear coilover suspension fitted with RideTech lower shock support elements, and the interior is draped in tan, with the same bright yellow used for the exterior visible on the center console.

Like most other cars getting ready to sell during the Scottsdale auction, this one too will go to the highest bidder no matter the price.

If you want to see if the car is worth spending some cash, the whole build process has been extensively and very visually documented. Follow this link and have a look at over 250 photos showing how the Hiboy came to be.
