Crocker motorcycles are almost mythical creatures, given how rare they are, but for the die-hard fans, something good is brewing in Sydney, Australia: the owner of the largest Crocker collection in the world, a guy calling himself Chilli, has set out to build Crocker replicas.
It is rumored that only 125 Crockers were ever built, but out of these only 66 V Twins are accounted for. Chilli and his company however, have big plans: up to 24 replicas will be built each year, with 10 more to be built annually by Michael Schacht of the LA-based Crocker Motorcycle Co.

There is no world on the price for these replicas, but we might expect that these bikes be at least extremely interesting from a technical and historic point of view. As for the way such machinery works, we really doubts they would offer the same feeling like the real ones.

While it is obviously impossible to create Crockers to match the vintage ones, Chilli's idea is truly great for collectors and Crocker enthusiasts, as long as they will consider the 80 years gap. This might be just like building replicas of the vintage guitar amplifiers: they look the same, an dare manufactured according to the original ones, but they will never, ever sound like them.

Crocker Motorcycles was founded by former Indian motorcycle engineers Al Crocker and Paul Bigsby, and their V- twin debuted back in 1936. According to The Vintagent, "Al Crocker famously advertised that if any of his bikes were ever beaten by a standard production Harley or Indian, he would refund the owner's money. No refunds were ever requested."
