You wouldn't guess it by looking at the comments his pictures have, but Cristiano Ronaldo's Instagram fans are quite intelligent fellas. Although, judging by the pleasure they seemed to get from trashing the man's photo, they were hardly his fans.
It all started three days ago when Cristiano Ronaldo did his duty as international soccer superstar and posted a picture of himself on Instagram for all the fans to cherish. If he usually selects snaps of him training or playing a match, this one was a little bit different.

We all know the best football players (we'll use the European name since he's Portuguese and plays in Spain) have tons of money, so we don't imagine they live in two-bedroom flats and drive ten-year-old Hondas. That means Cristiano's gesture of posting a picture of him standing next to a matte black Lamborghini Aventador parked in front of a luxurious home isn't exactly tacky.

What was pretty bad, though, was his stance. He looks as though he has swallowed a broomstick up the wrong end. "Unnatural" doesn't do justice to his body's position. It's as if he were involved in an invisible western duel with another man just behind the camera, ready to be the first to draw the pistols.

The good people of the Internet took notice, and a series of modified images started to pour in no time, each more outrageous and hilarious than the previous one. He may not have posted the photo on one of those "roast me" websites, but that's exactly what happened. This is how memes are born.

It's hard to say which is the best, but we got the biggest giggle at the one where he's substituting one of the Greek columns. He does look stiff enough to pull that off, even though the plenitude of his arms might make his three colleagues a bit envious. A ride in the Lamborghini and all is forgiven, right, girls?
