Craziest Marriage Proposal: Ford to Pay for Your Wedding

The lengths some would go to for a bit more exposure... Having learned first hand how a good public image through the use of social networks can help sales (you all remember the Fiesta year-long launch), Ford is now trying a similar unconventional approach for advertising the Explorer. A family SUV, if you like.

In collaboration with The Steve Harvey Morning Show will be looking, starting April 11 and until May 20 the craziest marriage proposal. The winners of the competition will be in for a treat of great proportions.

First off, the lucky new couple will be packed, wrapped and sent to their wedding or vow renewal in Las Vegas, during the Ford Hoodie Awards weekend (August 11-15). The prize includes round-trip air fare, a honeymoon suite, wedding ceremony at Mandalay Bay and tickets to all of the Hoodie Award festivities for both them and six close friends or family members. The couple will travel through all this ordeal on board a chauffeured 2011 Ford Explorer.

The all-new Ford Explorer delivers best-in-class fuel economy and features class-leading technologies like MyFord Touch™ driver connect technology and the class-exclusive rear inflatable seat belts – features that are both engaging and surprising for vehicles in this class,” said Shawn Lollie, Ford Multicultural Marketing manager.

“This contest is allowing us to continue to tell the Explorer story in a way that is both engaging and surprising, just like the 2011 Ford Explorer.”

Oh, yes, and before we sign out, if you plan to get married this year, register for the competition at the following link.
