CR Measures How Much Fun You Can Have with the 2015 M3

The 2015 BMW M3 and M4 are getting just countless reviews these days, most of the journalists having different opinions on it, most of the time. However, the problem with these test drives is that you really have to know how to pick them if you’re really interested in buying such a car.

That’s because what you’ll do with it is going to define your choice and you should be either looking at guys that take them for trips around Europe or guys that stick to the track, as they are bi-polar models.

The problem is no everyone knows what they are talking about. Just earlier this week we showed you the comparison done by EVO between the M4 and the Porsche 911 Carrera, with race car driver Marino Franchitti that showed some rather interesting insight on how the two compare on the track.

Now, Consumer Reports comes along and says that, basically, Marino was wrong. That’s why you really need to know who you’re dealing with when reading or watching a review. Anyone can claim they know what they are doing but there are few people out there that can actually release an informed take on how a car feels and drives.

CR praised the M3’s engine, ride and comfort but criticized its transmission, different settings and, to some extent, the price tag. However, we noticed that some of their criticism came from not knowing essential info about the car.

For example: it’s easy to complain about the fact that you have too many options to tune your car’s suspension, steering, acceleration and so on but none of the two reviewers inside the car didn’t bother to read the manual.

That’s where they would’ve find out that there are two buttons on the steering wheel that will do exactly what they asked for. All you have to do is configure your car once and memorize the settings and then, at the press of one button, you can have them all activated, nice and easy.

Furthermore, you can change the way your car drives by using the performance control buttons. Switching between Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes quite easily, without any hustle.

Anyhow, we won’t keep you any longer. We’ll let you get to the video and check them out burning some rubber but don’t forget that not every review out there is worth taking into account.
