Just recently, we positively observed that Solomon Lunger, the affable host of the Ford Era channel on YouTube, is ready to take his classic Blue Oval truck obsession to an extreme next level. But he does not forget about the regular features, either.
Among many other plans, he started working – alongside the expert folks over at Papi’s Garage – on a Mexico-imported 1979 Ford B-100. Long story short, this quirky model is the Blue Oval F-Series of classic SUV aficionado dreams, complete with huge interior space and a crazy door arrangement.
And if anyone feels these models are pretty unique, let’s wait and see what Ford Era’s “What The Truck!” creator has in store for it. The build project involves a lot of fabrication, custom work, as well as the addition of a 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty 4x4 Crew Cab chassis. Complete with the 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel and the 10-speed automatic!
Now, all that is clearly snatching a considerable chunk of his time. Still, Lunger has found a little bit of time for a quick, three-minute episode of his established series. And, probably tired of showcasing so many “old” trucks, he jumped a little ahead in time yet again, courtesy of a 1985 Ford F-150 Stepside. Those are fashionably known as the Bullnose F-Series.
And, apparently, they are not getting the deserved amount of glory. Well, at least this example certainly does. The owner purchased this truck back in 2015 and it was essentially only good for parts. Still, that hasn’t stopped the build project from coming to modern life with “way more power than I thought it would have,” courtesy of the ubiquitous 5.0-liter Coyote Boss 302 swap.
But it’s not just a traditional truck restomod. Instead, the 1985 F-150 comes complete with a hi-riser attitude. It rides on massive 24-inch wheels, has a squeaky-clean appearance both inside and outside, as well as a custom airbag front suspension!
