E-bike maker Cowboy recently introduced the 4th generation of their urban bikes, and now the Cowboy 4 is joined by C4 ST, a step-through version. Both models look exciting, come with the brand’s mobile app, and are some of the most affordable e-bikes on the market.
Cowboy 4 has a clean look and a silhouette that resembles that of previous models, except this new model comes with 3 color choices – black, sand and olive green. Weighing 41 lb. (18.9 kg), battery included, the C4 is slightly heavier than the previous C3, that was around 40 lb. (18.2 kg), but it can still be considered a lightweight bike that’s suitable for daily commutes.

It comes with a custom designed 250W motor that’s integrated into the rear wheel, and a removable battery that weighs only 5 lb. (2.4 kg). The battery has up to 43 miles (70 km) autonomy and is fully charged in only 3.5 hours. Instead of using both gears and adjustable power control, Cowboy bikes adjust the power assistance based on the force applied on the pedals. When the rider pushes the pedal, the motor’s torque adapts the speed accordingly.

The C4 is also designed for a smooth ride, thanks to its hydraulic disk brakes and carbon belt with no maintenance needed for up to 18,600 miles (30,000 km) and that’s better than traditional chains that need oiling. Plus, the 1.8-inch custom tires provide flexible grip and are made with a puncture-resistant layer.

The other newly-launched model, the C4 ST, is the step-through alternative for Cowboy 4. This is a better option for those who aren’t comfortable with the top bar, as well as riders who are less than 5′ 6 (170 cm) tall. Other than the different silhouette and a slightly heavier build (42 lb./19.2 kg), C4 ST comes with the same specifications as Cowboy 4.

Both Cowboy 4 and Cowboy 4 ST are currently available for pre-order, for the price of $3,200 (€2,190).
