One of the biggest players on the American electric vehicle infrastructure market, Coulomb, announced on Friday that it has installed the 100th charging station in the state of Washington, now providing covering for the biggest cities in the state: Bellingham, Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Redmond and Olympia.
The 100th charging station, which like all others is part of Coulomb's ChargePoint Network, will be available for use to all EV owners, and can charge all the major names of today's EV world: Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt and Tesla Roadster.
As the battle for supremacy in this new sector of the industry heats up, every single one of these stations are of great importance for the companies that produce and install them. Recently, Coulomb was named by Pike Research one of the two biggest names in this sector, alongside ECOtality.
According to the Pike study, Coulomb ranks first because of its technology partnerships, global sales network, and extensive product portfolio. ECOtality comes in second because of its involvement with the federal program known as The EV Project.
“The Pacific Northwest is one of the early adopters of clean transportation, and we applaud their pioneering efforts in support of EV drivers,” said Pat Romano, president and CEO at Coulomb.
“The ChargePoint Network brings to the state of Washington the largest and longest operating EV charging network in the world, and the only charging network with software business tools for station owners and mobile apps providing EV drivers real-time station status, station reservations and vehicle charging notifications.”
