Could This Be the Ducati 899 Panigale?

A new spy photo emerged on the interwebs, showing what could very well be the rumored Ducati 899 Panigale.

While the writings on the bodywork clearly read Panigale, the number before was covered in red duct tape, while the decal on the rear cowl is illegible, but still looks like nothing more than "Panigale". Now, the duct tape could really hide other numbers, too, and we simply cannot rule this possibility out.

The exhaust follow the 1199 Panigale recipe, and are beautifully integrated into the belly pan, while the swingarm is once more a dual-side unit, just like earlier rumors indicated it would be... the Aprilia way.

The pictured machine was clearly undergoing dynamic testing as we can see the wiring harness used for gathering data strapped to the right side of the bike. This means that Ducati is really working hard to have the bike ready for the fall, so we might see the number revealed at one of this fall's big bike shows. However, we guess it's going to be the EICMA and not the Intermot...
