Could This Be a Lexus NX Prototype?

According to Lexus’ latest reports, the automaker will showcase a production version of the LF-NX compact SUV concept at the Geneva Motor Show next year in March. The statement is also reinforced by a new NX-looking prototype spied recently in Japan.

Spy photographers for Japanese publication Mag-X recently spotted a compact-SUV-sized camouflaged prototype roaming on the streets.

Hidden well under tons of black panels, duct tape and other moldings, the only things hinting at its make and model is the size and Lexus spindle design that can be seen through the semi-transparent plastic shield up front.

Last time we saw an NX mule was back in October, when Roman and Nathan from TFL Car spotted one being benchmarked against its German rivals somewhere in Colorado. That one was basically a Toyota RAV4 with lots of Lexus elements inside.

What Mag-X found here appears to be a much more evolved prototype and if you look closely at the front end, you can almost see some lines from the LF-NX concept, like the shape of the hood with its lines continuing into the spindle grille.
